Rumors are swirling around the possible original film series by 'Bitten' creator Darrin McCann. According to sources the development is in the early stages, but Darrin says things are taking off and moving quite quickly.
The series, titled 'The Nightshade Chronicles', follows a young woman named Emily Griggs who, after a near death experience some years earlier, begins to see the supernatural inhabitants of a duel universe called Otherworld. Everything from ghost, ghouls, vampires, etc. exist on this duel plain and Emily is a gun for hire. She hunts them relentlessly for the highest bidder, but conflict erupts when she begins to question her latest target.
Although the project is in it's early stages, McCann confirmed that the title role of Emily Griggs will be played by none other than Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House, Red Lights). ”Casting Elizabeth Olsen for the title role was a no-brainer for me. I wanted someone who could kick some serious ass, but also bring a vulnerability to the character of Emily and I think Elizabeth was a perfect choice.”
“I'm ready to step back into the film ring” says Bitten creator Darrin McCann. “As much as I love running a full-time series there's just something about film that has always held a special place in my heart. I also think a film series would be epic.”
