It has been confirmed that "Trinity" executive producer, Jason T. Davis, has decided to bring his highly anticipated, but never-aired, post-apocalyptic fantasy series "Archangel" back to life! However, Davis told VSGuide of his plans to restructure the project, not as a full-series, or even mini, but a webisode series. If you don't know the origins of the project, you can find the original pitch here.
The series' two leads, archangels "Michael" and "Gabriel" remain as the prime focus of the story, however Davis expressed his desire to approach them in a slightly different manner. When asked to go into further details, Davis went on to say;

"Originally, Michael and Gabriel were introduced as two warrior angels, sent from Heaven to Earth in order to stop the spread of a newly rising evil. With the reboot, my goal is to humanize them as much as possible, by introducing them as characters already living on Earth, within human society and being forced to rise to a higher calling when the Hell-on-Earth scenario becomes all too real."

In regards to the cast, Rhona Mitra is reportedly still attached to the series as "Gabriel," but it has yet to be confirmed. As for Archangel's leading male, "Michael," originally to be portrayed by the late Andy Whitfield, has been recast for the third, and hopefully, final time. In the role given to Paul Bettany and Matt Cohen before him, comes Welsh actor, Luke Evans.

When asked to explain his decision to recast Michael again, Davis said, "The character of Michael has always been difficult for me to imagine, especially after Andy's death, as I thought he was absolutely perfect for the role. However, Luke has the look; not the same look, but a look I believe fits very well for the new portrayal of the character."

More in-depth details in regards to the plot and characters are sure to come once the series has been re-pitched to the network, but it sounds like we're all in for one hell of a treat!
