"Trinity" and "Hellbound" executive producer, Chris Davis, and "Land of the Living Dead" co-creator are teaming up for the recently announced "Firefly" virtual continuation. Both writers serving as co-executive producers. The team has committed to the season two premiere today, which can officially turn this "rumor" into a plan!

Davis will have two concurrent series on theVPN this year: Hellbound and Trinity, with the hopes of the network ordering his new pilot "The Agency," to series. Chris Davis, as of late, has been collaborating with quite a few writers for a number of projects: "Hellbound" paired him with Jack D. Malone, who he has worked with before on "Watchtower", "Trinity," and a number of un-produced pilots. Also, "The Agency" is being produced by himself and younger brother, Jason T. Davis.

Joss Whedon is a man who has inspired many writers on theVPN. The network itself has hosted a number of Jossverse spinoffs and continuations over the past four years of operation, including Faith the Vampire Slayer, and Angel: The Virtual Continuation, both penned by Jack D. Malone, who would later go on to develop "Watchtower." As well as the two short lived virtual spinoffs "Connor," created by Matthew James and "Fabulous Cordy," from Nicole Rodriguez.

There was even a Buffy the Vampire Slayer continuation on the horizon that would fall under Malone's Buffyverse continuity, however, production came to a close before the series could officially premiere in 2010. Since then, Jossverse on theVPN has been fairly quiet, but it looks like there may be hope for it yet!

There have been whispers of plans to expand on a Joss Whedon show, but it's probably not the one you're thinking of...

Trinity developers Chris & Jason Davis are in talks on developing a spy/mystery drama for theVPN.

The project - written by Chris Davis (Trinity; Hellbound) and Jason T. Davis (Trinity) - focuses on a feisty computer whiz named Bridget, who after unintentionally hacking into a government ghost server is recruited to join a covert branch of the CIA as their new technical analyst; but how far down the hole is she willing to go before she loses herself.

The series is being compared to Chuck, (if he was a she) without the comedic flare, according to producers. The potential series has received a pilot commitment from the VPN, with Broken Mirror Productions and Ninth Spectrum set to produce.
